Minutes of the January Meeting

The January meeting at Lone Star Flight Museum had amazing  attendance with 22 members and guests present! The group was provided a docent to explain the significance of the exhibited airplanes and a special showing, live narrative of the historical Doolittle Raid on Japan. In that raid there were 11 Texan aviators, more than any other state, of the 80 volunteer. The lone survivor still lives near Comfort TX, Richard Cole, now 102 years old.   https://www.stripes.com/news/1-member-of-the-doolittle-raid-remains-as-fellow-airman-dies-1.415959

The meeting was called to order at Papagayo’s Mexican Bar and Grill after the tour.

Discussion centered on the new year’s schedule of events – see attached. Due to weather related non-flying events last winter, I have some tentative rain dates scheduled too.

I will be receptive of new locations but the winter months tend to be wet so we need concrete to park and camp on. That makes Smithville’s parking lot a good event site.

See you in Giddings,

Lowell
